Alex and Joe have been friends from school and been on very different paths throughout their lives.
Alex, a successful entrepreneur and business owner. Joe, a plumber and family man.
Each bringing their own personal experiences and touches to what you see today at Bowl & Beck.
Joe has travelled the world tasting food and drink. His passion for coffee is beyond words. From fish and chips in Blackpool, to tacos in Mexico, he’s eaten his way through a wide variety of dishes and doesn’t intend on stopping anytime soon. Whether it’s a Michelin star dining experience in The Lake District or street food in NYC, Joe’s hunger for variety has no limits.
Joe has always wanted to run his own restaurant & has spent a lot of time in the city dining his way through inspiring and unique menus. However, it’s not just the food that excites him, it’s the hospitality. It’s the sheer variety of people that comes through the door. The fact that the ‘service with a smile’ can literally change someone’s day completely. You’ll find Joe behind the coffee machine making the best coffees in Thornton Village!
Alex too has always wanted to make his mark in the hospitality industry and have a bar/restaurant of his own. From street food markets to Michelin-star establishments, he’s explored some of the most renowned high-end restaurants and bars. When visiting B&B, you’ll see Alex by day enjoying a latte and scrambled eggs on toast, then by night he’ll swap it for a pint of peroni - be sure to say hi, he loves a chat.
At B&B, we care about locality. We devote serious effort to remain a pillar in the community and will always support local businesses. Our fish comes fresh from Fleetwood and our Butchers are less than a mile away.
